Little Big Planet Sold over 1.3 Million Copies

The very popular video game Little Big Planet has been slowly and quietly climbing the life long sales charts and for good reasons. According to SCE, over 300,000 user generated levels have been created for the game thus far. Thats an additional two years worth of game play for Little Big Planet, all created by you, the user. How bad ass is that!

Early projections of the games sales were low and the creators, Media Molecule remained optimistic that sales would continue to pick up. As months progress, the game gets better, game play improves, and the title stays visible so people are naturally excited about the game. At the Consumer Electronics Show, Sony announced the game has sold over 1.3 million units to date.

The Making of Little Big Planet

Chris Kohler of Wired Magazine was lucky enough to interview Alex Evans, Co-Founder of Media Molecule who made the game Little Big Planet. Alex visited the Wired studios and offered to talk a bit about the creative process that lead to the making of Little Big Planet. For all of us “users” who create countless levels and are intrigued by users creativity, this is a great little 16:00 minute clip that offers a little glimpse into the minds of the creators of Little Big Planet.

Tic Tac Toe for Little Big Planet

A very clever and dedicated Little Big Planet User Level creator by the name of Cristel has been so kind to create this awesome Tic Tac Toe Mechanical game you can now play with Little Big Planet. To find this level, do a search for “cristel” or you can locate the level by most hearted. For a little teaser you can now view the Tic Tac Toe level.

Sony’s Holiday Card

This years holiday card from Sony has to be the best card ever received. It’s all decked out in Little Big Planet featuring Sackboy on the front. Once you open the card three panels fold out with a snowy, Little Big Planet theme all across the pages. We particulary like how they incorporated the button symbols of the controler to create a palyground of sorts for Sackboy.
